On behalf of our executive and our firefighters, I would like to welcome you to our page. Our goal is to better inform the residents of The Town of Humber Arm South on all matters and functions of The South Shore Volunteer Fire Department. Our fire department can accommodate thirty volunteer firefighters. We serve The Town of Humber Arm South from one fire station located on Hillview Road in Benoit’s Cove. As a Fire Department, we conduct in house training on a regular basis to ensure we are ready to provide the best emergency services to our town and our town residents. Emergency operations are supported via a 2007 International Pierce Contender Pumper and a 2012 International Metalfab Walk in Rescue Response Unit. Recruits enter on a three month probation period and throughout their service they will be given the opportunity to grow as a volunteer firefighter and attend training seminars regulated by Fire and Emergency Services NL. Firefighter Professional Qualifications as per NFPA 1001 has been successfully attended by a number of our members. Membership has been our key element to our many years of success and it is through their continued commitment, dedication, and selfless service that we were able to become the Volunteer Fire Department we are today. If you feel you have something to contribute to our organization, please feel free to give us a call. Our contact information, a copy of our constitution and a printable copy of our membership application can be found here on our page. I would like to thank you for your interest in viewing our page and please, STAY SAFE.

All the best,

Brad Gallant/ Fire Chief
